Eye of Horus Inspired Look

Hello my wonderful readers! How are you? This is the first post in the seven post series I will be having on Halloween tips and looks, so read on! The rest of the photos will come, I am still deciding between a few that I really thought that I would post, but my mind has changed once again. Well, onto the post!
The Eye of Horus originates from ancient Egypt, as it was an important symbol in the religion and daily life of the ancient Egyptian people. I was reading a fictional novel about Nefertiti’s childhood, and I got inspiration from the way they used to line their eyes. I am only using two colours in this tutorial, but feel free to add more if you want to. Let’s Start!

Step One: Prep your eyes with a good concealer. I prefer cream concealers because of their versatility and the naturally matte finish.here I amusing my NARS concealer in Ginger. Skip this step if you do not like using concealers.

Step Two: With a brush, evenly cover your eyelid all the way to the brow bone with a sheer white colour. The eyeshadow used was Sephora: Sephora Collection Mono colourful Eyeshadow, in Alpine Summit (23). Blend the colour down to your lower lash line, and keep adding layers of eyeshadow until you reach your desired effect. This way, you can control how intense you want the eyeliner to be in the end.

Step Three: Taking a nice electric green pencil liner, line your upper lid, while thickening the line as you go outwards. Wing out the line slightly, you want to keep the line nice and sharp. This eyeliner is Sephora: Sephora Collection Flashy Liner Waterproof in Flashy Ultra Green(12).

Step Four: Completely line you lower lash line, and connect the line to the one on the upper lid on the outer corner of your eye, and also connecting around the tear ducts

Step Five: On the lower lash line, draw a line parallel to the winged out portion of the liner. You will draw on this new line about a third of the way from the outer part of your eye.

Step Six: Draw a line connecting the ends of the other liner segments.

Step Seven: Add a bit of flair to the new shape by slightly curving the ends of the lines, like in the picture below. Make a line that is diagonal from the outer eye like so, and colour in the outer half of the diamond-like shape.

Step Eight: Lastly, draw a swift tapered line from the bottom of your tear duct towards your nose, as it is shown in the picture. Wipe up the white eyeshadow around your eyes to make it cleaner, and finish with your choice of mascara.

here's a final shot of the look, I decreased the amount of light in the room for this effect

There you have it! A very quick eye makeup tutorial for all you Halloween people. I hope you enjoyed the look. Thank you for reading, and be sure not to miss part two of this series.

Happy Eyelining
