Anabelle Studio Custom Eyeshadow Quad Review

Hello my jubilant readers! I hope you are all enjoying those wonderful moments out in the sun, and just soaking it up. Of course, you would wear sunscreen. All prosecuting aside, today I am going to review a few products from a favorite brand of mine. I was in a supermarket out of town, just picking up some snacks before I head back home, and I decided to take a peek in their makeup aisle (like a true fan of makeup), and I spotted the Annabelle display. I am a regular buyer of their cosmetics, but for some reason, I never actually tried their custom quad palette or the shadows. It was just my luck, as the durable, magnetic palette was around $2.49, and each individual  shadow was only $1.99! It was a bit surprising, as they sell it for the full price in my hometown, so why not give it a try?

The custom palette has a technicolor pattern of graffiti laid over the clear case of the compact, and the backing is a nice solid black. It can fit up to four shadows, and each pace is lined with magnets. I find its very easy to pop the shadows in and out of the palette, so there is no cracked eyeshadow or ruined carpets from trying to pry out the shadows. Its also a nice-sized palette, not to bulky or too small.

I picked out four shadows, just to try them out. This first colour is a nice jewel-tone dark green shadow, called "Rainforest". As yoo can see in the photo, it has just the right amount of shimmer, which makes it very wearable even in the day. This is one of my favourite shades of green, as it looks flattering on most skintones!

The next colour I chose was "Divine Diva", a pretty mauve-y/ purple-brown shade.. I already own a similar colour, but this one has a bit more appeal, as its nice and warm toned, and looks great on its own or paired with other shadows. This is usually my go-to colour when I 'm in a rush.

The third colour I chose for my palette was an ethereal lagoon-blue called "Fantasy". I love this colour, its so graceful yet daring all at once. I definitely recommend you readers to go and try out the colour for yourselves!Just like the awesome green eyeshadow, it has just enough gentle shimmer to be able to wear it during the day.

The last colour I bought, reminds me of liquid gold. It literally oozes metallic coolness, daring anybody to give it a try. I love this shade of gold, its not too loud, or too glittery, "Gold Digger" has great colour payoff and did not crease when I applied it.

The verdict:
These eyeshadows are definitely on par with a few of the higher end brands you may encounter. They retain their vibrancy well after they are first applied to the skin, and fade nicely into the later hours of the day. I think they do pretty well for drugstore shadows, and might even be just as good as dupes for a couple MAC shadows or even STILA ones. I love ho these are extremely affordable and budget friendly, for all those students and makeup junkies out there. So what are you waiting for, go down to your local drugstore and try out the testers if you can! Another plus, is that this brand is Canadian, which might persuade all you dedicated Canadians if that won't do the trick, all of these products are cruelty-free, containing no animals or animal-by products. Annabelle Cosmetics is a canadian brand that sells in all major drugstores, such as Shoppers Drugmart, and London Drugs, and all major grocery stores, such as Sobeys.

Thank you for reading, I hope this post proved to be helpful. Until next time!

Going for the Gold!

Hello all of you fantastic readers! I hope you all have been keeping up with the Olympics! I love watching all of the events, as every athlete is too talented to ignore. Its just such an exhilarating event to watch, too bad it can't be every three years!I've been coming home from work and just planting myself down on the couch to watch the events I had missed. Hopefully, they will put karate in the 2020 Olympics, as it is always a fun sport to watch. I feel happy for all of the Olympians that worked hard and received medals, its tough enough just making it into this sporting tradition. Keep up the hard work Canada!

Accessory Love: Ear Cuffs

Hello my dazzling readers! How are your summers going along? Today's post is all about one of my favourite accessories to wear: the ear cuff. Now this isn't a new phenomenon in the beauty world, as people have been wearing all types of awesome accessories on their ears, without having to go through with piercing anything. I would like have a third ear piercing, but maybe it won't be required, as I could just slip this little semi-circle onto my ear cartilage, and be on my way. Another benefit, is that ear cuffs tend to be a bit more fashionable, and more widely available in extravagant styles. Why not visit Etsy and snag a few cute ear cuffs? I am currently wearing a simple semi-hooped one, with tiny zirconia stones. I might consider buying one with a stud and a chain attached to it. What style is your favourite? Well, I'm off to bed, talk to you all soon!

Summer Job :)

Hello you admirable readers! How are you today? It's another late night blogging post. This is a busy summer for me, as I am interning at a hospital five days a week. The job is far from exasperating, and I love having so much freedom around the workplace. Everyone is friendly and inviting, which makes work more enjoyable. This is just a 6 week internship, which I started last Monday, and so far, everything is going very well. How about you guys, what are you up to this summer? Internships can be easy or hard to come by, it just takes a bit of patience. That cliche bit of wisdom may not help, but I am going to write up another post on how you can obtain that coveted internship. Well, I'm off to bed now. Long day ahead of me tomorrow! I now leave you with this peppy Coldplay song. Enjoy!

My Summer Must-Haves!

Hello you fabulous readers! Enjoying all of this wonderful sunshine? I love summer, its always so mysterious and fun. Its the only season where you can try everything and anything without any restrictions, and better yet, no studying! This summer seems perfect, I just have a feeling its going to be one of the best summers yet. It was so nice out today, that I decided to make a list of a few of my summer must-have products for you. Well, lets get rolling!

LancĂ´me Juicy Tubes in Raspberry Ice
This lip gloss shade is perfect for summer, as it has just the right amount of shimmer in it, as is non-sticky which is always a plus. This gloss had a delicious fruity scent and taste, which reminds me of warm weather.

Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
Summer calls for a simple foundation/skin routine. I love using this product as you just use a small dab and you're good to go. It contains a small amount of sunscreen, and is also oil-free. The coverage is very buildable, and does not get cakey or greasy looking. The product gives your skin a healthy glow. Another plus, is that the tube last forever! I've been using mine for about 3 months, a few times a week, and it just recently became half-full!

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Although makeup is fun to experiment with, it can be quite a bummer in the wee hours of the night, to remove. After all those late night movie marathons with friends or even all-day barbeques, it does not seem as enticing to spend an extra 5-10 minutes removing makeup. I make sure I remove all of my makeup, but let`s face it, at 1 am most people are too tired to do a through job. That`s where this wonderful cleanser comes in, and cleanses your skin into squeaky clean perfection.

Open Message to the Graduates of 2012

Whoo hoo! Grad 2012 :)

Hello all of you wonderful graduates! You are now part of the real world, according to modern social conventions. The moment you placed a firm grasp on your diplomas and tossed your graduation caps in the air, you just started a new chapter of you lives. For some of you, this may be the end of your formal education, but for many this  is still just the beginning. I would like to congratulate every single graduate, as you deserve a ton of praise for your dedication and hard work. You should all be proud of yourselves, as your diploma will open so many doors both in the real world, and in the way you will view society. Though you are all now out of school, and ready to take on anything, it does not mean you should give up the remainder of your childhood and take on an office job. Live your life. These cliche words may just be the best for describing the best course of action. Life is meant to be explored, leaving no crevice or underbelly of a rock undiscovered. Enjoy the moments and snippets of time you may have, and take every opportunity given to you. I would just like to to congratulate my brother, who graduated this year. I am so proud of him, and I will miss him when he is studying away at university. I came back from the day-long celebration a little while ago. Once again, good luck to all you graduates out there, and go and enjoy your life. I will now sign off for the night with a quote from one of my favourite books.

“All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust.”
J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Happy Grad 2012
