Makeup For Glasses

Welcome back, how has the week been for all of you? I hope it went well. I’ve decided to put up two posts today, so look out for the next one ^_^ The posts on my blog have been coming out every few days due to the fact that I’ve been rushing round everywhere. Well, on to today’s post!
Some people that wear glasses think that they have to go bare-faced when wearing their specs. Well, the truth is that you can still wear glasses and wear makeup, it’s a no-brainer. I know that it can be difficult wearing makeup with glasses, because of the lens glare, smooshed eyelashes, and any other issues. However, a few tricks can be applied to bypass these problems. With glasses, any look can be modified, but do not think that this tutorial is the only way. Experiment
until you discover the right looks for yourself.

I decided to make my second makeup demonstration for the bespectacled, but these looks can be achieved for those who do not wear glasses. The amount of makeup being applied would have to be reduced, in order to allow for the looks to work. I put more eye makeup on because my glasses do not have a non-reflective coating, so it is harder to notice the pigments with the glare. If you happen to have a non-reflective coating or even something remotely similar to Crizal lenses, you can use a less amount of eye products, as it will show up slightly better. Now, put on those specs and get moving!

Step One : To start, apply a good concealer underneath your eyes, and set it with powder. This is a good step to take, as glasses usually cast dark shadows under the eyes, though dark circles are not present.

Step Two: Put your glasses on, and make a note of how much of your eye that the frames cover. If they are similar frames to mine, you do not have to worry about the eyeshadow, it will appear as it usually would.

Step Three:  This next bit of instruction is optional.  For this tutorial, I am using a yellow-orange shimmery shadow as the base colour. Take the base eyeshadow colour, and make a mark on either eye where the lenses end. This will assist you by displaying how much area there is to work with. Skip this step, if you do not want to use it.

Step Four: Load up a dense eyeshadow brush with a fair amount of pigment. Gently sweep the colour all over your lids and down to your tear ducts, and even a bit over the crease. If the colour is not bright enough for you, you can always add another swipe. Softly blend out the crease. Extend the colour a little bit past the outer part of your lid, and blend outwards.

Step Four:  Take a warm pink blush, and apply the colour onto the outer “V” of your eyelids. To find the outer “V”, follow along the outer third of your eye socket with the eyeshadow brush. Bring in a bit of the colour to the outer part of the lashline.

Step Five: If you have long eyelashes like I do, mascara often makes your lashes go over the frames, and makes them press against the lenses. Instead of using mascara, curl your lashes and use a bit of clear mascara.  If you do not have clear mascara, you can tightline your upper waterline. Open your eyes really wide, and gently push on your eyelid. Now, just glide a black or brown eyeliner pencil over your upper waterline, wing out the line a little bit.

There you go! A quick and easy look completed in no time at all. Feel free to suggest any looks you want me to demonstrate. Well, onto the other post of the day.

Enjoy Your Summer
