Is Oil-Free Worth Buying?

Hello readers! I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful day! We all know of the various gimmicks that run a muck in the beauty world. This multi-billion dollar industry just keeps the trends coming, and its loyal followers occupied with the task of attempting to buy every "new" product out there. Now I'm not trying to dissuade you from buying Oil-free products, no, no!I'm just trying to say to be wary of this marketing gimmick.

Yes, there are oil-free creams and cosmetics that work wonders for your skin, but is it really necessary to buy it? Most of the time, the oil-free and regular version of a product work just as well as the regular one! a lot of times, skin care companies will charge consumers more money for offering such a "special" version of their products. I have still broken out from using oil-free moisturizer, because thought you don't want to believe it it, they still contain oil.

Yup, that one thing you were trying to avoid this whole time. Now, instead of cowering away and tossing those expensive bottles of foundation and moisturizer, think for a second: they still work just as well as the regular formula, because they still contain oil. They just contain more natural oils, but are able to get away with labeling it differently.

Oil isn't a bad thing for your skin, as most cases of acne are hormonal, and can't be entirely blamed on makeup. Your skin produces its own natural oils, and they are easy for your phospholipid bilayer to absorb and moisturize the top two layers of skin. Sometimes its just hormones, or you keep forgetting to cleanse your face after removing makeup. Who knows what's causing you to break out! It's a problem with many dimensions, and many solutions, so it may not even be the moisturizer. There are a lot of dermatologists that even recommend using creams that are not oil-free. This can work for some suffers of acne, as their skin can be overproducing sebum due to dry skin, which can be treated in a few cases where it can help to regulate over-dried skin.

There are benefits to oil-free lotions, as they are usually fragrance-free, and they can make your skin feel matte and less greasy. Just be more aware of what ou are buying, as oil-free can still have more irritants than regular lotion too!

Thank you for reading :)

Happy October
